Historical Background of the “One New Man” in Virginia and America.

1.       What came first was the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later.”   

I Corinthians 15:46 (NLV).  The first permanent settlement in America was Jamestown ort established on Jamestown Island in the year 1607.  The initial name of the colony was Virginia and its territory stretched from the Atlantic seaboard to the Pacific coast.  The colonial capitol was initially Jamestown until it was moved to Williamsburg, Virginia in 1699.  The 400^th anniversary of America’s birth at Jamestown will be celebrated in the spring of 2007.  Tav is the Hebrew letter for 400 and stands for truth!  There is a strong biblical and spiritual significance of this year 400 cycle.  God promised Abraham that his descendents would acquire the promise land after 400 years (Genesis 15). The fulfillment of that promise came with Isaac’s birth 30 years later which initiated the 400 year countdown from enslavement in Egypt to freedom. When Israel departed from slavery in Egypt 430 years had passed: “At the end of 430 years to the day, all the divisions of ADONAI left the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:41. (NLV)

          In the spring of 2007 America will celebrate the completion of a similar 430yr time span.  We believe we will experience the greatest revival/Spiritual Awakening America has ever known and the One New Man is the key!  The spring of 2007 will be America’s 430^th anniversary, not 400^th.  Let me digress for a moment.  The English explorer Sir Francis Drake sailed from England in the year 1577 to circumnavigate the globe.  As he sailed up the west coast of the present day United States he pulled into a small bay in an area slightly North of San Francisco harbor and claimed the continent land of North America for Jesus Christ and the crown of England.  There is some minor disagreement as to the actual year of his claim.  Some historians claim it was 1577 others say 1578 but I believe it was 1577 and here’s why.  Thirty years later (from 1577) the first permanent settlement in America was birthed on May 14^th 1607.  The year 2007 will be America’s 430^th anniversary.  America will depart from our enslavement from sin as an unmoral nation!  The captives will be set free!  The promise was made in 1577 and the physical fulfillment came in 1607.  Just like God’s promise to Abraham and the physical fulfillment through Isaac’s birth 30 years later culminating with the departure of Israel from slavery in Egypt after 430 years.  May 14^th also coincides with the birth date of Israel as a Nation 341 years later on May 14^th, 1948.  The Biblical Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost) also began at sunset on May 14^th, 1607 (Sivan 6^th 5367).  Americas birth on these Biblical dates are not coincidental!

          The 430^th anniversary of America also coincides with 40^th anniversary of the restoration of Jerusalem back to Israel.  I believe General Moshe Dayan made a grave spiritual and tactical error when his troops returned the “Temple Mount” back to Islamic control in 1967.  God promised Israel the restoration of all her lands.  General Dayan feared a WW-III scenario if Israel maintained control of the Temple Mount.  His decision was made in the flesh similar to the negative report of the 10 spies concerning Israel’s entering into the promise land in Numbers 13.  That untrusting generation from Egypt wandered for 40 years and perished in the desert, never to witness or enjoy the fullness of God’s promise.  A similar untrusting generation will have passed in 2007 (1967-2007 40 year anniversary of Jerusalem being restored back to Israel), the same year as Americas 430^th anniversary!

            Finally, the seeds of the “One New Man” were planted at the Jamestown settlement 400 years ago in a prayer that was spoken twice a day at the main gate of Jamestown Fort. The following paragraph is a direct quote from this prayer exactly as it was written in the book “Lawes Divine, Morall and Martiall for the Colony of Virginea”-Printed in the year 1612.A Praier duly said Morning and Evening upon the Court of Guard, either by the Captaine of the watch himselfe, or by some one of his principall officers.

“We beseech thee to furnish the Churches with faithfull and fruitfull ministers, and to blesse their lives and labours for those mercifull uses, to which thou hast ordained them, sanctifie thy people O God, and let them not deceive themselves with a formalitie of religion in steed of the power thereof, give them grace to profit both by those favours, and by those chasticements which thou hast sent successively or mixedly amongst them. And Lord represse that rage of sinne, and prophanesse in all Christian states which breeds so much Apostacy and defection, threatning the taking away of this light from them: Confound thou O God all the counsel and practices of Satan and his ministers, which are or shall be taken up against thee, and the kingdome of thy deare sonne. And call in the Jewes together with the fulnesse of the gentiles, that thy name may be glorious in al the world, the dayes of iniquity may come to an end, and we with all thine elect people may come to see thy face in glorie, and be filled with the light thereof for evermore.

We are experiencing the fruit of this prayer in our time and will experience the revival and fullness of the Kingdom of God for our Nation and the World as the One New Man takes root in our country and around the world.  Americas days of iniquity will come to an end in 2007 and we will see the fullness of His glory!  The One New Man I believe is the Key to this!
